Virgin Megastores Sold

Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group has sold off its Megastores chain in the UK and Ireland for an undisclosed sum. The business that helped launch his empire has been purchased by a management buyout team led by managing director Simon Douglas and finance director Steve Peckham. During the next month, the 125 stores will be rebranded as Zavvi after Zavvi Entertainment Group - the buyers of the business. "We now choose to franchise our global entertainment retail operations, rather than own them, and this was the last significant Virgin wholly owned retail business in the world," Branson is quoted as saying.

He added: "The Virgin brand will continue to be represented in-store through the Virgin Mobile and Virgin Media in-store concessions."

Business News from Times Online

Loading...
This website will be a journal of sorts, a place to gather up to date news on businesses and businessmen/women. the entrepreneur appeals to that part of me, perhaps of all of us, that would like a quick update on business news for today.

I've been an entrepreneur since I can remember and have an absolute passion for business. This website (blog) is a way to help me keep up to date on accurate information/news on businesses around the world. At this time I find myself working on a new website to make the entrepreneur a formal online business newspaper. Finally, please feel free to forward this website link on to everyone interested in business news or introduce this website to friends and family.

I hope you find these pages useful. Drop me a line if you have any thoughts or ideas to share in order to make the entrepreneur the most reputable website for up to date business news.
